Description

A new, more ergonomic design promotes an upright and stable seating position. The seat plate has a 5° pre-tilt at the knee, encouraging a natural squatting position for toileting. Additionally, the seat plate's new shape is based on the seated imprint (see pressure mapping diagram), reducing pressure on genitals and bony prominences. Optional overlays provide cushion depth, reduce commode openings, or create a solid seat for showering. Transfer supports at the front of the seat allow users to position themselves more comfortably for toileting and/or showering.

ERGO shower chairs are manufactured from corrosion-free stainless steel. An improved caster design reduces dirt collection in the axle area. The collection pan rail positions the pan closer to prevent splatters. The pan includes volume markings inside and a convenient hook on the handle for lid storage. The chair can be cleaned in an autoclave at 80°-90°C. Cleaning instructions are provided in the manual. The 24" rear wheels have quick disconnect axle pins. Without the larger wheels, the chair can be rolled or pushed using the existing 5" casters, which include PVC handrim and hand brakes.

The ERGO seat is height adjustable from 18.5" to 23.4", while armrests can be adjusted at 8.3"/9.8"/11.3" from the seat. Height-adjustable footrests range from 12.4" to 18.2" from the seat, featuring adjustable fabric heel loops and an angle-adjustable plate. The machine-washable, coated-nylon upholstery includes multiple straps to adjust for tightness or increase seat depth. The chair can be disassembled for travel or storage.
