A new and more ergonomic design promotes a more upright and stable seating position. It features a tilt motion that shifts the center of gravity without the use of a gas cylinder. This downward and forward movement ensures a smoother tilt, reducing the chair's overall footprint while maintaining stability. This also decreases the tilt force for caregivers and extends the tilt range to -5°-40°. The reduced footprint allows easy maneuverability in tight spaces and positions the chair closer to walls, optimizing the seat opening over a toilet.

The seat plate includes a 5° pre-tilt or knee lift for a natural squatting position during toileting. Its redesigned shape, based on the seated imprint (refer to pressure mapping diagram), minimizes pressure on genitals and bony prominences. Optional overlays offer increased cushion depth, reduced commode openings, or create a solid showering seat. Front transfer supports aid users in positioning themselves comfortably for toileting and/or showering.
ERGO shower chairs are manufactured from corrosion-free stainless steel. An improved caster design minimizes dirt collection in the axle area. The collection pan rail keeps the pan closer to prevent splatters. The pan includes volume markings inside and a convenient hook on the handle for lid storage. The chair can be cleaned in an autoclave at 80°-90°C, with cleaning instructions provided in the manual.
The ERGO VIP seat is height adjustable from 18.5" to 23.4", with armrests adjustable at 8.3"/9.8"/11.3" from the seat. The head support is height adjustable with the turn of a knob, and an optional head support tube offers additional length. Height-adjustable footrests range from 12.4" to 18.2" from the seat, featuring adjustable fabric heel loops and an angle-adjustable plate. The machine-washable coated-nylon upholstery includes 5 straps to adjust tightness or increase seat depth.
